LIBRARY REPORT
2011-2012
The Library of Joshi-Bedekar College is considered as one of the Best College Libraries in the vicinity of the University of Mumbai. Our Library is fully automated working in four different sections. Students extensively use all the sections of the Library. On an average, around 1000 readers visit the library, per daily. During the academic year 2011-2012,
- Library added 2942 Books to its collection
- Total number of Volumes crossed 78000
- Subscribed 144 Journals and received 09 Complementary Periodicals
- Library received Grant of Rs. 88,160/- from Students’ Welfare Department, University of Mumbai
- Book Bank Facility was available to 212 students and 1133 Books have been issued
- Orientation Lectures about Library OPAC were delivered to new students
- Demonstration of Library OPAC and Databases was organised for the faculty members and
- External Membership Facility of the Library was extended to 22 members in the Academic Year.
I offer my sincere thanks to the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Shakuntala Singh and both the Vice Principals, who have all been taking keen interest in the activities of the Library. I am thankful to the Library Committee, Chairperson, Prof. D. S. Bhide, Library Staff and Non-Teaching Staff for kind cooperation and guidance in the smooth functioning of the Library during the academic year.
